About Us
Who We Are
The Christian Holistic Development Foundation was established on the 12th September 2006 when a group of 10 passionate committed Nigerians met and agreed to established an organization that would mobilized and support local Churches to serve as agents of change through local structures, organized groups and associations and to work out holistic development in their immediate Communities.
These 10 men and women agreed to serve as the first board of Trustees of the Foundation and to make financial contributions to the Foundation with the resources God has blessed them with. They were hopeful that other well-meaning Nigerians would join them in supporting the Foundation in longer time.
The group noted that all organizations that are involved in development work have established departments that deal directly with poor communities with minimal or no involvement of the Local structured organizations and associations in the whole development process. The situation now is that most local organizations and associations, even though part of the Community, yet do not see the need for their involvement or as part of their responsibility to reach out to their immediate Communities and assist in transformation of their immediate Communities.
Yet the mission of the local organizations and associations is to increase the well-being of the locals through good management of natural resources. Lack of this initiatives makes the Local organizations and associations to be less effective in the development of their immediate Communities. There is therefore the need to mobilize and develop the capacity of the local communities members to see the need for the development of their immediate communities. The Foundation has been established to do just as stated above.

CHDF is a Christian foundation that is committed to partner and support local organizations and associations to build the capacity of the locals through organizations and associations to meet to their basic vision, mission and objectives as faced in their communities.
We are committed to rehabilitating communities affected by crisis and insecurity. Our mission is to address critical challenges such as sexual and gender-based violence, providing potable water, promoting girl child education, and offering gender counseling. We also focus on the rehabilitation of social amenities, including primary health centers and basic schools, to ensure every community has access to essential services. Through sustainable agriculture, we empower communities to thrive and achieve long-term stability.
